anthem(s) del dia (de ayer?)

today is a quadruple-header since i've been super mia recently, and it's inspired by my trip to el taco riendo yesterday afternoon. apparently there are a bunch of taco trucks in the columbus area, and this one is supposed to be the best, so i went with a friend to check it out. it's literally a beat up food truck in an abandoned parking lot, no frills whatsoever. we rocked up to the counter, ordered (in spanish, too! so impressive slash not at all!), and waited. and then the magic happened. i had a bomb ceviche tostada w/ a lime jarrito. most perfect combo ever. then i had a bite of my friend's chicken gordita (btw, mexican gorditas are NOT AT ALL like taco bell's...not that this is surprising. but they look like pita pockets and they taste so good i haven't been able to get them out of my head since...) so naturally after that i had to get one for myself. we spent a good hour eating tacos in the car, and luckily i had some of these tunez to fit the atmosphere:

ke$ha is one crazy b

umm...issue one, ke$ha is mad high in this interview. issue two, what the eff is going on with her outfit? who does she think she is, peaches? honestly, who HASN'T she ripped off yet? issue three, she discloses towards the end that she wears her own placenta around her neck usually (assuming this is in necklace form) because folklore says you can gain second sight if you a) eat your placenta, b) bury it in your backyard, or c) wear it on your person. and she is working very hard to develop this ability. sicksicksick. please enjoy this train wreck.

camp anawanna, we hold you in our heartz

i frequently check youtube to see if there are any new uploads of doug, legends of the hidden temple, pete and pete, not dubbed episodes of clarissa, or most importantly salute your shorts. the evil douchebags at viacom refuse to put (most) of these shows on dvd for my nostalgic enjoyment, but they also claim copyright infringement anytime episodes make it onto the internetz. after watching a few episodes of doug on youtube last night, i decided to check out the status of salute your shorts, and to my amazement there are currently a bazillion episodes for my viewing pleasure! the quality isn't fantastic, but it's better than relying solely on my hazy 7 year old memory. so i will get you started right here, and then you can continue on to youtube to reminisce about ug lee, budnick, and most importantly donkeylipshhh:

...telly, they did you a favor by nicking your glasses. nerdzilla for life. who do you think you are, anyway? sponge?

go here to explore the rest of the episodes. much thanks to mbw1107, whoever you are. you deserve a national holiday in your honor.

i've blogged about this remix before because it's incredible and amazing and all things that are good, but i suppose i'll reblog in celebration of today's itunes release of little boots' album hands. just found that out via twitter...was kind of confused because i definitely downloaded this about a week ago. i'm such a criminal. anyways, here you are:
