unofficial australia appreciation day

i have been watching australia's next top model nonstop over the last week and a half. it is so good i can't even describe...and here i thought cycle five was amazing! turns out the previous seasons are even better. i've been working my way backwards and am currently to the final four of cycle three. why is australia's next top model so much better than america's next top model? first of all, they all LOOK like they could actually be models, unlike our american mall rats. second of all, they are mad bitchy. third, they have crazy accents and weirdo slang. fourth, there is no tyra. fifth, they actually treat it like a serious competition...the ones who win actually do go on to have intense modelling careers, especially alice from cycle three...she did something like 68 runway shows in just one year after she won the competition. CRAZY.


anyway, after all this aussie reality tv, i got it in my head that tim tams (australia's favourite cookie) were in order. hence i sent myself on a mission to go find them, and was pleasantly surprised to see that world market has them in stock. not only did i pick up two packages of those (chocolate and caramel varieties...) but i also grabbed a couple curly wurlys, aka the best candy ever ever ever.








after that sugar binge, hopefully i'll have enough energy to embark on my workload which is roughly the size of mount everest. either way, i'll still be taking breaks to watch more austnm, which you can also enjoy right here beginning with ep. 1 of cycle 3!!! so exciting!!!

i have a weird relationship with cats. the only way i can think to accurately describe my aversion is to describe my relationship with watermelon. while i HATE actual watermelon, and avoid it at all costs during picnics/bbqs/otherfunctionswherethereiswatermelon, i LOVE artificial watermelon flavour in things like bubblegum. so where am i going with this? basically i hate real cats and enjoy artificial depictions of them in things like photos/drawings/mediumswheretheycan'tclawyoureyesout. however, melinda josie's depictions of cats makes me (almost) want to end my lifelong feud with felines. i repeat, almost.
